Autism Parent Training

At Helping Hands ABA, Alaska LLC we know that family support is essential to your child’s success, so we provide Parent Training to set you all up for the best possible outcome. We work closely with each family, creating individualized treatment plans which teach the specific skills each child needs to live a happy and healthy life.

Through our training, you will gain a better understanding of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), empowering you to work more effectively and efficiently inside and outside the home. We support you and educate you on improving skills based specifically on your child’s diagnosis.

With ongoing supervision from an Alaska-licensed behavior Analyst, we also help family members deal with the stress that can accompany the many challenges that exist with ASD. To that end, we offer one-on-one, in-home parent training as well as parental support groups. What’s more, this essential training and support will be available to you as part of the ABA program.

Supervision and Support

Our home-based providers are either fully accredited through the BACB® as RBTs® or are in the process of pursuing an advanced certification as a Behavior Analyst or an Assistant Behavior Analyst. Service providers receive continual hands-on training and supervision from our team of BCBAs® and attend monthly, collaborative training on relevant concepts, including ethics and professionalism, behavior intervention, cultural humility, compassionate care, and many other important topics.

Social Skills Training

We offer Social Skills Training in both small and larger group settings which cover:

• Initiating conversations
• Greetings
• Appropriate eye contact
• How to behave in specific social and community settings
• Understanding emotions and facial expressions
• Gestures and body language
• Assertiveness
• Empathy

Social Skills Training programs vary based on age and level of functioning. Your personally assigned Behavior Analyst will work with your family to determine the appropriate social skills to target.
