Parent Training for families of children with Autism

One-to-One Parent Training

At Helping Hands ABA, we understand that family support is an essential element in cultivating the best possible learning environment for your child. That is why we offer parent training to every family that we work with. We work closely with each family to create individualized treatment plans, which help their child learn the skills necessary to live a happy and healthy life.

Our training program introduces evidence-based treatment in child development that can help your child improve in many ways. As part of our training, your knowledge on Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) will increase greatly, which will empower you to work more efficiently and effectively in the home and the outside world. This newly acquired knowledge can help your child improve communication, encourage positive behavior, improve social development, and coordinate care. We will provide parental support to specifically educate you on improving skills and behaviors based on your child’s diagnosis.

Helping Hands will provide the high-quality services you deserve in your home, with ongoing supervision from New York Licensed Behavior Analysts. We can also help family members deal with the stress of coping with the many challenges that exist with ASD. We offer one-to-one in-home parent training, as well as parental support groups. This essential training and support will be available to you as part of the Applied Behavior Analysis program.

Our training program covers:

  • Care Coordination
  • Psychoeducation
  • Parent-Mediated Interventions for Core Symptoms
  • Parent-Mediated Interventions for Maladaptive Behaviors

Our Home-Based Providers

All of our home-based providers are either credentialed through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) as Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs), or are pursuing an advanced certification as either behavior analysts or assistant behavior analysts. Our service providers gain valuable hands-on experience in skill acquisition and the implementation of behavioral programming. This is explicitly done in our Early Childhood Center as ABA Instructors under the direct on-site supervision of BACBs.
