At Helping Hands, we aim to support other professional and families with individualized therapeutic sessions. Our story began with our sister company, Hand in Hand in Development Inc. Here, we work with individuals from birth to 3 years old. At the Center we offer 1 on 1 instruction where we focus on goals associated with communication, visual perceptual skills, gross motor, fine motor and receptive skills just to name a few. We’ve seen incredible growth from when the children started at Hand and Hand up until they leave us. We wanted to continue to help and support our families after they left our early Intervention program, thus Helping Hands Therapeutic Services Inc was born. At Helping Hands, we offer this same one on one instruction within the home. We also offer ongoing family training as well as parental support groups.
We believe in providing the highest quality of services for the families we serve. All of our home-based providers are either credentialed through the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) as Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs), or are pursuing advanced certification as either behavior analysts or assistant behavior analysts. Our service providers gain valuable hands-on experience in skill acquisition and the implementation of behavioral programming in our Early Childhood Center as ABA Instructors under the direct on-site supervision of BCBAs. Once our Instructors demonstrate excellence in service provision and show that they passionate, skillful, and possess excellent judgment, they will be invited to participate in our rigorous RBT training. This intensive 40-hour training follows the BACB guidelines and includes lectures, roleplay, observation and feedback specific to a 37-item task list and 33-item ethical code. In addition to passing the Board-issued Competency Assessment, each Instructor must also sit for the Board-issued RBT exam. At this point, our staff are fully prepared to provide the high-quality services you deserve in your home, with ongoing supervision from New York Licensed Behavior Analysts.
